EcoRanch Game Box     EcoRanch Tip Sheet Preferred Choice award

EcoRanch is the first game of many theme-based board games to be developed by Enlightened Play!

Once a year is not enough, so every weekend EcoRanch celebrates Earth Day! You’ve been invited to come for a one-day retreat. You’ll have a chance to be out in nature and time to think about how you affect the earth and its inhabitants. Plus, you’ll get to help out!

Not just your average ranch, EcoRanch rescues animals and finds homes for them. A group of these animals has just arrived at the Adoption Center. The ranch needs your help to herd them to their foster pens. You’ve also decided to adopt an animal. The Ranch gives you some tips about how to care for your animal.

Hold it! There’s been a mix-up! You’ve been given one animal of each kind except your own! You must locate your animal from areas around the board. Or, you may need to barter with another player at the Cooperative Center to get your animal. One of your tasks is to gather supplies for your animal, as displayed on your Adopted Home mini-board. This is what it takes to create a sustainable environment for your animal. You can earn, trade, or barter for supplies before or after you get your animal. You have several tasks to accomplish before day’s end.

You must:
  1. get your animal
  2. get your animal’s supplies
  3. drop off your foster animals to their pens or to their adoptive player(s)
  4. donate all your surplus supplies.

Your purpose today is to demonstrate how aware you are of yourself and the society around you by acting mindfully. At EcoRanch, you earn enlightened point chips for your enlightened actions. This is how you win the game.

EcoRanch is a game of strategy based on inner and social awareness. The game uses Awareness Cards(TM) to tease players into learning more about critical issues facing the planet. EcoRanch was designed for tweens through teens, but parents, teachers, and those working with young people will enjoy this game to build and strengthen relationships. It’s fun to play while learning about oneself, other players, and the collective society we live in.
